In which we feel slightly behind

...but all the wiser for those that have blazed the trail before us.  It's a little weird when the babies you were uncomfortably forced to hold are now holding your baby.

We had a great Memorial Day Weekend with our friends Thomas, Rob and Rachel, and the latter's kids E & T.  There were tons of exciting events, like sitting on the couch, grilling in the back yard, walking to the park, and eating pizza (and drinking beer) and the corner brew pub (brew pizzaria?) Piece.  We managed to spend two out of the three days doing exactly this, and it was wonderful and relaxing.

For a little extra excitement, we squeezed in a few games of Clue and Scrabble.  Emily mostly watched, though.

It's been far too long since we were able to share this kind of relaxed visit with our far-flung friends - we really enjoyed having them here!

  1. Well, all I can find are cute photos of you holding our kids as babies, even if you felt uncomfortable!

I love how in that last photo I'm there in the background ignoring everything but that bundle of good-smelling baby...
