Harvest Party, cont

Emily is honored to carry on the Pumpkin Fairy tradition. Rumor has it, the original pumpkin fairy is Elizabeth Hawes (confirmation?), who generously shared her good fortune with Emma (if that's not enough, see here). Tradition lived on with Miranda, who was thoughtful enough (OK, thanks Rebecca) to think of Emily for 2011.

Emily's pumpkin fairy debuted at yesterday's annual Harvest Party for Emily's day care. The faces were remarkably similar from last year - many of the same kids are still in the same group today. It's amazing how Emily has bonded with a few kids in particular. One is Evie - aka ladybug - as captured by Evelyn's mom before I arrived.

  1. Happy to confirm that Elizabeth was indeed a pumpkin fairly way back when. She might be able to fit that costume on one leg at this point.

  2. Yes, I can confirm that the costume was originally Elizabeth's, a gift from her Grannie Galloway.
That year stands out in my mind as the year we went trick-or-treating with the Kimbros, and Elizabeth's 18-month-old MO was to stick out her little hand and chirp, "Treat!" She knew the important part...
We're delighted that the costume has kept going. Emily looks adorable in it!

  3. Very cute!! Out of curiosity, why is this post tagged with "penguins"?

  4. Penguins is Emily's room at School. She started as a penguin at 5 months, then she was a panda, then they reorganized the rooms and she's a penguin again. Other options would have been koalas or chimps. Once she's two, she'll move to the big-kid side of the facility, and magically become a fruit! Probably a cherry.
